As amazing as the new Toyota Prius is in terms of fuel economy, it looks like the green car is still no match for the Chevrolet Volt. Not only does the Volt comes in with a more attractive exterior design but the Volt is also a lot greener than the Toyota Prius.
Under the hood of the Toyota Prius is a 4 cylinder hybrid engine that will be returning about 54mpg in the city and 50mpg on the highway and that is not the best Toyota can offer. The Prius Eco model will return an impressive 58mpg in the city and 53mpg on the highway but even that can’t beat what the Chevrolet Volt has to offer.
Powering the Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in electric hybrid powertrain that will give the Volt about 52miles of electric range. The Volt can go up to 106mpg when combined with the standard engine.
Of course, the Volt also needs about 4.5 hours to get charged up.
