You might want to keep the storage compartment empty for now if you own a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon or you might get hit with something hard during an accident.
GM will be issuing a recall to recall back the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Cayon after it has been reported that console compartment lid has the tendency to open during a crash resulting in the occupants getting hit by the items inside.
The recall will affect a total of 9200 units of the 2016 models. Affected models will be the Chevrolet Colorado made from the 25th of August 2015 until the 24th of September 2015 and the GMC Canyon made from the 28th of August 2015 until he 24th of September 2015.
The affected models will be recalled to get the console compartment door latch replaced. GM has yet to announce when the recall will be starting. There has been no injuries or death reported so far.
