The Chevrolet Colorado might be doing better than what GM had originally predicted but it is still far behind their toughest rival the Toyota Tacoma. Even with the arrival of the Diesel powered Chevrolet Colorado Duramax model, the Chevrolet Colorado is still trailing behind.
After a few delay, the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax finally arrive earlier this year. The model came in with a 2.8 liter four cylinder diesel engine that will be delivering about 181hp and 169lb ft of torque. According to EPA, the Colorado Duramax will deliver about 22mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway on the 2WD system. The Colorado Duramax with the 4WD system will return about 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway.
Chevrolet has now announce that they will also be upgrading another one of their plant to increase the production rate of the Chevrolet Colorado. Maybe this will help them catch up to the Toyota Tacoma.
