2016 Chevrolet Camaro Z71 Now With Striking Looks

A new gallery of spy shots have appeared, allowing us to take a closer look at the next Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 whilst it’s being developed, and the vehicle’s appearance is fierce. Different to the previous images, the body no longer has the heavy cladding and is instead covered in a camouflage wrap. That change makes it a far easier task to check out the details.

The huge grille at the front is the first thing that you will see as it looks as though it will eat anything that may cross its path. To make it look even meaner, the lower air dam also seems to stick out more. It might not be so easy to see in these latest images, but according to our spies the hood still has an extractor very much like what is found on the Cadillac CTS-V.

The large double spoke wheels look excellent in black and really stand out in profile. Once you’ve looked away from them you will also spot some changed made to the side sills. Towards the back of the vehicle you will notice some changes have been made to the rear bumper. It’s impossible to miss the wing as well.

The ZL1 powerplant is still unknown, however it has been speculated that it will use the LT4 6.2-liter supercharged V8. One reason to believe this may be the case is that the hood design looks very much like that of the CTS-V. Even if it had the same engine, Chevy’s engineers may make changes to the output and make it higher or lower than the Caddy. The ZL1 is expected to be launched for the 2017 model year so we don’t have to wait around too long to find out.
