2016 Chevrolet Camaro: First Spy Shots Ever! [PICS]

It is no secret that Chevrolet is currently developing the next-generation Camaro and the muscle car will be looking to make its debut by 2016. Today, the world can catch a glimpse on what the Camaro has got to offer after its first batch of spy shots got leaked online.

While the sports car might be wrapped under thick camouflage, we can still notice that the Camaro is actually smaller than before. This further suggests that the Camaro is built on the Alpha platform from GM.

As a matter of fact, the Camaro is sized so similarly to the ATS. The latter is renowned for its exquisite handling and with the former being sized like it, we can expect it to come with some superb handling as well.

Over at the tail section, we saw that the Camaro has four exhaust openings which hint on the engine being a V8. Then again, the vehicle stands on ZL1-style spoke wheels which further hints on the car being equipped with a much more powerful engine.

Some analysts claim that it is the turbocharged four cylinder mated to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic. If this is true, then the upcoming Ford Mustang will have a serious challenger in their hands. The Camaro is expected to come with a price tag that starts from $24,550.
