The 2016 Audi Q7 will be the one Audi will be using to compete with the Volvo XC90. While it does comes with a few good features and specs, the way we see it, the only way they will have a chance against the Volvo XC90 is when they start taking the design seriously.
The Audi Q7 is all about being fuel economy and efficient which is nice but having that is not going to be enough. The Audi Q7 will be coming in with the MLB platform from Volkswagen and will now weigh about 716 pounds less than before thanks to all the aluminum used in it.
Powering the Audi Q7 is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be delivering about 252hp and 273lb ft of torque. Besides the base engine, there is also the 3.0-liter gasoline engine option and a TDI Diesel V6 engine option. All engine will be mated to an eight-speed auto transmission.
Those looking to go green will also be offered the e-tron model which will be powered by a diesel plug-in hybrid engine that will deliver about 373hp.
