Come 2016, the Accord will be getting a new look. Honda has been hinting that it will be giving the mid-size sedan a facelift in the near future.
Today, the world can already catch a glimpse on how the Accord will look like after the Japanese carmaker, together with DongFeng, launched a concept of the next Spirior. For those who are unaware, the Spirior is basically a renamed Accord for the Chinese market.
The facelift Spirior concept made its debut during the recent Beijing Auto Show and it finally adds some young designs to the long-serving vehicle. At a glance, the upcoming Accord does look a lot like the new Acura TLX. Well, this cannot be blamed as the Accord designers are the same group of people that created the TLX.
Honda claims that the new design will come, hand-in-hand, with dynamic performance, technologies and safety features. Under the hood, the concept is powered by Honda’s 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder gasoline mill paired to an 8-speed DCT transmission.
The Spirior concept will be available to the masses in early next year and also be the base model for the future Honda Accord facelift.
