It has been said that when the WRX along with the WRX STI came out many fans were not happy with it. They thought that they design of it wasn’t like that shown in the concept, the new design was said to be plain and there wasn’t anything spectacular about it.
People are still hoping that they could see the concept design that they love and one insiders did say that Subaru does have plans for making an Impreza in 2016 and the Impreza is going to have the concept design.
The chief designer of Subaru said that they have “taken the next-generation Impreza’s design in a new direction that we are sure will excite the marketplace,” further adding that they are “planning to give the lower section below the hip line a wider, more substantial stance and narrow up the roof section.” So it does seem that the Imprezza would have a body that is lower along with being tapered, more along the lines of the WRX concept.
The Imprezza should arrive with the modular chassis of the Subaru global platform and this will apply to all cars from 2016.
