One of the top pickup trucks around has always been the Toyoto Hilux. It is the best seller in Australia and if Toyota have anything to do with it that won’t change any time soon.
The most recent picture has been made with the aid of spy shots from the forthcoming Toyota Hilux. The face of the Hilux is covered by the grille which resembles the offspring of a Corolla and a Highlander. Underneath the grille is a bigger trapezoidal lower-intake. Apart from that, it is clear to see that the car is a lot wider that the models seen before it.
We can safely guess that a pickup truck such as this will run on a 2.5 and 3.0 liter Diesel four with an optional 4.0 liter V6 engine. It will also come together with either a 5 speed manual transmission or a 6 speed automatic transmission with 2wd and 4wd configuration.
As far as competition is concerned, the automaker doesn’t need to be concerned about any rivals in China considering that the Hilux won’t be removed from the shelves any time soon. Amongst the international rivals will be the Mazda BT50, Volkswagen Amarok, Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado and Mitsubishi Triton.
