Come next year, Toyota will be unleashing the Hilux Facelift but instead of just some subtle changes to the existing model, the pickup truck will come with tons of improvements on every front.
This is due to growing success of the Chevrolet Colorado and Ford F-150. Toyota simply fears losing its dominance in the pickup truck segment and hence, go all-out to create something better with the upcoming Hilux.
For starters, the upcoming Hilux is going to be much bigger than its predecessor. The vehicle will sport a horizontal chrome-grille that is believed to be brought over from the Highlander and resting beneath it is a larger, trapezoidal lower-intake.
The upcoming Hilux is going to enjoy better proportions with its measurements. There will be a broader, more nose-forward hood and a wider tray. It can be described as something in between the Highlander and the VW Amarok.
Under the hood, the Hilux will be offered with three different engine options. While no specifics were mentioned, Toyota highlighted that it will be a 2.5litre diesel, 3litre diesel and a possible 4litre V6 variant.
Of course, that is all the information we have at the moment. Regardless, it already suggests that the Hilux Facelift is going to be out of this world. Both the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Colorado better sell fast as there is a serious challenger coming soon.
