Come next year, Subaru will be launching a large variety of vehicles but it is the XV Crosstrek and Impreza that bagged the most attention thus far. Both vehicles have been closely linked to each other due to the many similarities that they share.
This isn’t surprising as Subaru has already confirmed that both the XV Crosstrek and the Impreza will be built on the same platform regardless of their clear difference in segment. The former is a categorized as a 7-seater compact crossover while the latter is a compact sedan. With both vehicles built on the same platform, Subaru will save a lot of money with their production.
Even the engines will be near similar to each other. Both vehicles might be tailored for different needs but the fact that the engines will have Subaru’s new features like direct injection, lean-burn technology and cylinder deactivation.
It seems that most of the upgrades are inspired by the WRX. Then again, the latter is basically the sports version of the Impreza. Nevertheless, we can look forward to learning more about the vehicles when the get released late next year.
