Come next year, Subaru will be releasing the highly anticipated BRZ STI but little do the masses known that there is actually another vehicle in development. It is a two-door coupe called the Subaru SVX.
For those that has lived through the 90s era, the SVX was one of the bestsellers and it is only right for Subaru to revive the name after it got discontinued for more than a decade. An industry insider revealed that the SVX might not share the same name as its past but will still be a high-powered sports coupe that is heavily inspired by the recent VIZIV-2 Concept.
Of course, no official details on the SVX are out at the moment but we can expect it to come with the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive architecture. The engine is tipped to be a Boxer that comes with flat-six. This is paired to a hybrid motor that is borrowed from Lexus to power the rear wheels.
Then again, it is still too early to speak of the SVX and making wild predictions can be dangerous. Perhaps, it is still best to wait at least until early next year, when Subaru spills more beans on the vehicle.
