This happens to be the first production car to come out of Singapore with the nine speed ZF transmission. It is the most fuel efficient and good looking Land Rover vehicle to have been made since the Evoque arrived in Singapore during 2011.
Just as with the Porsche Macan, the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3, which are said to be arriving during Q2 of this year, we do have the feeling that the Evoque is not going to be popular when it comes to driving around a jungle.
The price tag for the Dynamic Black Pack comes in at S$309, 999 and you can pick up the base Pure for S$259, 999.
The Evoque is not awkward when it comes down to looks. This is a car that is great looking and suave and it isnt boring by any means. If you go for the Bold Black Pack then expect everything to come in black. This includes the front bull bar style grill, the 20 inch rims and the surrounds of the fog lamps. The headlamp cases are smoked out and this gives the car a fatal attraction look.
Inside the cabin is well arranged and sleek looking with plenty of trimmings that are luxurious. The seating in the front is spacious and it is very comfortable and there are plenty of adjustments. The benches at the back are a little on the tight side, however children will be happy enough in them.
We drove the Dynamic variant and this had the adaptive MagneRide dampers. It does extend how confident the Evoque is as it can tackle bumps, undulations and dips with poise.
The Evoque does offer a ride that is comfortable and it does so consistently. It does come with a heftier price tag that the 3.0 litre Audi A5 or the BMW X3.
It has the 2.0 litre drivetrain along with four powerplant and the nine speed gearbox that was made with the help of the German specialist in transmission, ZF. Driving is smooth and easy and more efficient on the fuel. we got 6.5km/L, this is far away from the stated 11.5km/L.
The Evoque offers 240hp with 340Nm of torque and it weighs in at 1.6 tonnes. It is nimble and punchy and comes with the Active Driveline all-wheel drive system turned into a two-wheel drive system if it doesn’t need the extra traction. It can change between all four wheels and front wheels in a seamless motion.
