The success of the Porsche Macan has prompted the German carmaker to produce more crossovers and there is no better way to do so than updating the Panamera with a new model.
While nothing has been mentioned by Porsche, we know that the Panamera Facelift is being developed as we speak. Spy shots of the vehicle running some test confirm that it is the next Panamera that is due to arrive somewhere next year.
At a glance, viewers should be able to notice that the Macan has a more swooping roofline than its predecessor. Also, the side fenders are curved in a manner that it looks like the 911. The front portion is styled with more angular front lights and intakes which makes it looks a lot like the Macan.
Inside the vehicle, everything seems to be inspired by the 918 Spyder. The switches are all controlled through a large touchscreen tablet attached to the dashboard.
As a matter of fact, we can also confirm that the Panamera is built on the MSB architecture. This will ensure a stronger body while also weighing lighter than its two-tonne predecessor. This is despite of the vehicle having wider track and a more stretched body. The latter is further exaggerated to appeal the Chinese market.
While no further details were revealed, we can expect the Panamera to be offered with the same engine options as the Macan. Of course, there will be the same range of models that consist of the Panamera S, Diesel and Turbo. Fans can expect to learn more when the SUV debuts next year.
