Nissan has been showing off its new Sports Sedan Concept over the last couple of months now and yesterday, the Japanese carmaker finally spilled the beans on the study. It appears that the Sports Sedan Concept will be the base model for the upcoming Maxima.
It sports a new front grille with the V shaped chrome bar and also boomerang shape LED lights that flanks the grille. Things get more interesting as the Maxima is to come with design cues from the legendary, Nissan GT-R. We can see some inspirations drawn from the latter on the Maxima like the floating roof.
Over at the interior, the first thing viewers will notice is Nissan’s Friend-ME that is embedded on the centre dashboard. Speaking of which, the dashboard looks as if it is taken from Ford Mustang due to its angular shape and stylish design. Other features on the inside include infotainment system and keyless entry and go.
Under the hood, the Maxima is powered by a super powerful 3.5 liter V6 engine. While no details were shared, we feel that the motor will drive on both the RWD and AWD architecture. When the car gets released next year, it will look to compete with the Dodge Charger, Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet SS and Toyota Avalon.
