It has been 7 years since the last Mazda 2 got released and it is about time for the Japanese carmaker to start producing a successor. For so long now, the Ford Fiesta have been dominating the hot hatchback segment and it needs to be challenged.
The next Mazda 2 is touted to be released next year and it will be nothing like its predecessor. Fans can expect a new design on the hatchback and tremendous improvements in the performance front.
The first thing we can expect the Mazda 2 to feature is the Kodo chassis. Mazda did mention that their future vehicles will all have the same base structure as it will save cost and promotes versatility.
Also, the Mazda 2 will come with SKYACTIV technology that will improve on the emission by a huge percentage.
A prototype of the Mazda 2 was seen being tested on a race track in Japan and it truly looks great. Furthermore, the fact that it is able to handle the tough turns and high speed braking makes it a great vehicle to look forward to. Expect the Mazda 2 to arrive in early next year.
