The latest spy images to have been captured show off the interior of the Land Rover SUV in some detail. You can see the new steering wheel along with dashboard. Land Rover have gone for a luxurious look and they have taken on the sexy round control knob on the gear selector, which could be linked to a new 9 speed automatic.
Of course the test engineer wasn’t very happy when he realised that the interior of the car had been snapped. He had made a stop at a gas station for a bite to eat after racing around the Nurburgring and thought that the Discovery was safe enough. The camouflage of course didn’t help as it made the car stand out.
The Discovery Sport is going to be made in Britain at the Halewood factory and the 4×4 prototype has the name of the Discovery Sports, which is to take over from the Freelander. Both are going to be merged into one platform, along the same lines as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
Land Rover have made LED adaptive lighting for off-road and these is also a camera along with projector at the front that make the hood look translucent so you can see where the wheels are when going uphill, along with showing any obstacles in the way.
The design on the exterior is thought to be an evolution of the design of the current version, it will blend the trademark elements of the Discovery with looks that are more streamlined from the Range Rover.
