Jeep has already confirmed that the Renegade will be released at the end of this year. Despite the major announcement, consumers worldwide are not thrilled for it. Perhaps, this is due to the fact that the Renegade looks so much like a vehicle from Fiat.
Regardless of what the reason is, Jeep doesn’t look like changing its mind in releasing the Renegade. The US carmaker has worked long and hard to produce the Renegade and they are confident that it will appeal to first-time car buyers. After all, the Renegade is something small, simple and affordable.
On the other hand, many analysts felt that the Renegade won’t be doing well in the compact SUV segment. When the vehicle arrives, it will be pitted against the likes of the Chevrolet Trax, the Kia Soul, Buick Encore and market dominator, Nissan Qashqai. On papers, there is simply no way the Renegade can outsell any of its rivals.
The least that Renegade could do is compete with the Kia Soul. After all, the former is built with the AWD transmission which the Soul doesn’t offer. Then again, the fact that Jeep is more focused on the off-road might be its failure in conquering the general market.
