2015 Honda Civic Type R: What We Know So Far…

It is no secret that Honda is producing the next-gen Civic Type-R and it is due to arrive in 2015. Despite that fact, there is a lot of confusion on the vehicle’s details and today, we are going to set things straight.

While the final design for the next Type-R remains hidden under camouflage, Honda claims that the car will look exactly like its concept that was unveiled about a year ago. The Japanese carmaker went on to call the sports hatchback as a racing car for the road.

There is no arguing this fact as the Civic Type-R is designed with dramatic wheel-arch with vent behind the rear wheel a huge rear wing and a full-width diffuser along with quad exhausts. At a glance, the Civic Type-R truly looks sporty than ever.

Under the hood, the Type-R will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that has an output of 276bhp and 400Nm of torque. Of course, this is subject to further confirmation but if it is to be as stated, then the sports hatch will be able to sprint form 0-100km/h in just 6 seconds.

When the Civic Type R arrives, it will look to challenge the Volkswagen Golf R and Ford Focus RS. It is going to be an intense battle of hot hatchbacks next year.
