The recent Beijing Motor Show played host to many great concepts and among them is the DongFang Spirior. The mid-size sedan is confirmed to be getting updated with a new design and it is due to arrive next year.
What makes the Spirior an interesting subject is due to the fact that the sedan is a renamed Honda Accord. DongFang has been teaming up with the Japanese carmaker in distributing the latter’s vehicles in the local market. Furthermore, Honda is also planning to give the Accord a facelift. With the Spirior concept already unveiled, we could just see the Accord being based on it.
Honda was thrilled to announce that the upcoming Spirior will be getting significant advancements in exterior design, dynamic performance and technologies as well as safety features. When looking at the vehicle, we could see that the front design is heavily inspired by the upcoming Civic Type R.
The Spirior is expected to be powered by a 2.4 litre direct injection four cylinder gasoline engine that has been paired alongside an 8 speed DCT transmission. Also, it will sport safety features like blind spot display, lane departure warning and head up display.
