Come 2015, Honda will be giving the Accord a fresh new design. It is really important for Honda to get the Accord’s appearance right as the last couple of years saw the mid-size sedan cruising with a dull appearance.
Today, Accord fans can already get a glimpse of how the upcoming facelift is going to look like. DongFang had just unveiled their next Spirior on the Beijing Auto Show and it could just be the base model for the upcoming Accord.
In case fans are unaware, the Spirior is basically the Accord that has been renamed for the Chinese market. Dongfang has been working closely with Honda which further suggest that the Spirior will be the platform for the next Accord.
When looking at the concept, one can notice the Accord sporting a sportier look. The front grille seems to be inspired by the upcoming Civic Type R and so are the LED headlamps and lower hip.
The facelift Accord will be powered by a 2.4-liter direct-injection four-cylinder gasoline mill paired to an 8-speed DCT transmission and will come with features like head-up display, lane departure warning and blind spot display systems.
