There’s a quote that can be found on Ford turner Roush’s website from founder Jack Roush which is “Between a road car and a race car there is a Roush car.” Maybe this means that someone in beteen a road car and a Roush car you can find something like a tock F-150 pickup packed full of cosmetic features. Roush is launching a new 2015 Ford F-150 based vehicle which is not really racy or a car, but it most definitely is a Roush and a truck and the not-so-subtle plaques, badges and stickers tell us.
The word “Roush” is actually used on Roush’s web page for the 2015 Ford F-150 46 times, from Roush’s banner at the top of the windshield, to the Roush rocker panel stickers, to Roush being written on each of the four side-exit exhaust tips – then list goes on, there’s plenty of it. What is not found on the F-150 though is a good power upgrade, it is mostly cosmetic features that make up the Roush F-150 kit and the only things really bettering the F-150 driving experience are the exhaust setup we mentioned before and a Fox coil-over suspension.
The entire kit and everything that comes with it including special floor mats, fender flares, 20-1inch wheels, new grille and front bumper, hood stickers, windshield, body sides, tailgate and marker lights (even though the truck isn’t really wide enough that it needs them) will come with a pricetag of $10,600 and will also need dealer installation. This won’t put you off if you are a Roush fan, although if you are an F-150 owner who wants a truck with a bit more of an improved performance then your ten grand is probably better off spent elsewhere.
