Large SUVs have its own unique appeal and next year, Ford will be competing in the segment with the upcoming Edge. The vehicle is currently in production and it will ranked above the Ecosport Compact Crossover and the Kuga mid-size SUV.
Due to its large size, we are not surprised when an insider revealed to us that the Edge will be built on the same platform as the Ford Mondeo/Fusion. It will get a more cutting edge design that will also improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
In detail, the Ford Edge comes equipped with a BMW style air curtain in the front bumper, Ford’s Active Grille Shutters that are designed to help maintain the engine temperature and also a stylish lower bumper.
Inside the cabin, the Edge sports a 10” touchscreen infotainment system, Fully Assisted Parking Aid and an Obstacle Avoidance system. The latter is something very new as it warns the driver on an incoming obstacle and will force the brake if drivers failed to notice the alert.
