For starters, the next-generation Edge will come with many new technological instruments. This includes adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering system, collision warning with brake support, active park assist, glove box-mounted airbag system. Hands free liftgate, 180 degree front camera with washer and inflatable rear safety belts.
Furthermore, the upcoming Edge will look to offer more comfort and better noise insulation. Ford has redesigned the suspensions for the SUV and it will assist in absorbing the shocks from a bumpy road while also preventing the road noise from creeping inside the cabin. Also, the adaptive steering will be featuring on the upcoming Edge and it will improve the vehicle’s handling.
The Ford Edge, like most Ford vehicles, will come in 4 trims. They are the SE, SEL, Sport and Titanium. Also, there are there engine options to choose from and they are the 2.0 liter Ecoboost four-cylinder, the 2.7 liter EcoBoost V6 or the 3.5 liter V6 engine. All engines will be paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Ford will be releasing the Edge in the coming months, starting in the US before being shipped to South America, Europe and Asia.
