The Ford Bronco has been highly regarded by fans of utility vehicles but it has been a long time since Ford offered a new version of the vehicle. Now rumours are going around that there could be an Eco-Boost or diesel Ford Bronco coming out and it may have the base of the 2015 Ford F-150 chassis.
If the rumours are true it would be in competition with the Jeep Wrangler choices of engine and could have the 5.0 litre V8 engine, the 3.5 litre EcoBoost and the 4.5 litre turbodiesel. This would of course compete with the EcoDiesel of Chrysler.
It has been said that the Jeep Wrangler may have the diesel engine too, if so it would be the first time that Ford have moved into the diesel arena. Chrysler have been selling all the Wranglers they have been able to build and Ford have enjoyed success with the F-150 Raptor and hybrid car sales. A hybrid version of the Bronco would not just provide fuel efficiency but it would also be fun to drive.
A new Bronco may take over from the Raptor if it came with four wheel drive fitted as standard in two and four door vehicles. Ford did say that they would launch two dozen models this year so the chances are we could see an Ecoboost Bronco along with diesel among them.
