Fans of sports utility vehicles regarding the Ford Bronco very highly but it has been decades since Ford have offered a new version of the Bronco and many years have passed since we saw the last Bronco concept on the stage. Now we are hearing rumours of an Eco-Boost or perhaps diesel powered Ford Bronco and there could be something substantial to these rumours.
It has been said that Ford are in fact developing a 2015 Bronco which has been based on the new 2015 Ford F-150 chassis. This will compete against the Jeep Wrangler engine choices and may include a 5.0 litre V8 along with a 3.5 litre EcoBoost V6 and a 4.5 litre turbodiesel. The latter would be in competition with Chryslers EcoDiesel engine.
We have heard that the Jeep Wrangler could get a diesel engine too and so this could be the ideal time for Ford to jump on the diesel engine bandwagon. Chrysler are selling as many Wranglers as they are able to build and of course Ford did enjoy success with their F-150 Raptor along with hybrid car sales. A hybrid Bronco would offer fuel efficiency along with it being fun to drive.
If a new Bronco did arrive on the scene it may take the place of the Raptor if it had four wheel drive as standard in the four and two door vehicles. Ford have said that they will launch around two dozen models this year, so perhaps we could see a brand new rugged Bronco with EcoBoost and diesel engine among them.
