One does not need a PHD in engineering to work for BMW M-Division as the tasks have always been simple. Word has it that the M2 will be coming next year and creating the sports sedan isn’t rocket science at all.
All that BMW has to do is make it lighter, wider and more focused. Then, equip it with the same or similar engine as the one under the bonnet of the M3/M4. Finally, run some tunings to achieve about 360 to 400 horsepower.
As for the design, BMW can choose from the many fan-made renderings that will surely appeal the masses. One particular rendering shows the M2 coming with pale yellow paint. It comes with an open roof and two-doors.
Adopting such a design will surely raise the M2’s appeal. In short, it is really simple to create the M2 sports sedan as it is all pick and mix from BMW’s end. The only period where we will see something revolutionary is from 2016 onwards.
