Honda’s secondary arm, Acura, is attempting to make a name in the luxury vehicle segment. Like how Toyota did it with Lexus, Acura is aiming to replace the old TL and TSX with a new model called TLX.
The company had just unveiled the TLX and it will be part of Acura’s 2015 MY line up. Also, it is revealed that the TLX will drive on the FWD architecture with two engine options. They are the 206hp 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission and the 290bhp 3.5 liter V6 engine mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission. In fact, there will also be a 3.5 liter SH-AWD that is paired to a 9 speed transmission coming in the future.
The entry level 2.4 liter will retail at $30,995. If consumers purchase it with the technology package, the TLX will then have a price tag of $35,025. As for the 3.5L V6, prices starts at $35,220 and is capped at $39,250 for the technology package. There is also an advanced package option that will take the total cost to $42,500. The top of the line SH-AWD cost $41,450 and the Advanced package model will be priced at $44,700.
Those that are interested to get the TLX should not delay their purchase. Acura is running a program that will allow buyers to reserve the vehicle at the introductory price with APR financing. Furthermore, consumers will be rewarded with a $500 voucher that can be spent on accessories.
