The latest Acura TLX SH-AWD variant has just been released and it has already been sold to 189 individuals. Unfortunately, the owners received a notice from Acura yesterday which requests for the vehicle to get inspected at the nearest service centre due to a suspected incorrect label.
In this bizarre recall, Acura revealed that the TLX SH-AWD has an incorrect gross vehicle weight rating and gross axle weight rating specification printed on the side label. NHTSA fears that if drivers were to follow the wrong label, it could result in tyre failure, thus building up to a possible fatal crash.
Of course, there has yet to be such cases happening. All 189 TLX SH-AWD owners should act fast to and get the new label pasted on their vehicle. On the other hand, they can call up Honda at 1-800-382-2238 for more information. Acura is the luxury arm of Japanese carmaker, Honda, and it could be that the labels got lost in translation.
