What do you do when you have two great cars that are underperforming in sales? Well, the best answer would be two fuse both of them together and hope for the best. This is the decision taken by Acura, which will combine the previous TL and TSX to create the 2015 TLX.
The luxurious car will arrive with two engine options. One is 206hp 2.4L 4 cylinder engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission while the other is a 290bhp 3.5L V6 engine mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission.
The list does not end there. Acura teased that they are considering adding a third SH-AWD engine option that is a 290bhp 3.5L V6 engine mated to a 9 speed transmission.
The entry level Acura TLX will be retailing at $30,995 whereas the premium variants will cost at $35,025. As for the 3.5L V6 models, prices will start at $35,220 and will end at $39,250. If that is not satisfying enough, consumers can choose the super high-end Advance package that retails at $42,500.
Finally is the SH-AWD variants that will come with a price tag starting from $41,450. The Advance package version will cost $44,700.
While the cars are not out yet, Acura is already allowing the consumers to make reservations for their purchase. Doing so will fix the price at introductory level with APR financing. In addition to that, customers will also get $500 voucher that can be spent on accessories.
