2014 Toyota RAV-4 Review: A Fresh New Look

The all-new Toyota RAV4 is truly appealing. Unlike its predecessors, the new SUV arrived with a mean look. The RAV-4 features horizontal taillights with a sporty grille in between. On top of that, it has a fierce-looking taillight that will surely update the drivers behind.

The RAV4 is also larger than its predecessor. However, it is shorter than the previous RAV4 that got released.

Looking at the 2.2L diesel engine, it performs like smooth silk as it accelerates and overtakes without any issue. Heck, the diesel RAV4 offered 340Nm of power for the driver to tap on. However, the diesel engine is still not as good as it rivals. Drivers should be able to notice the diesel clatter audible under load.

The highest end variant is the Cruiser, which comes with an added Sports-mode, and eco-mode function. Choosing sport will tune the RAV4 for high revs and a reduction from the steering assist system. On the normal mode, the CR-V can achieve 7.1L/100km.

The special thing about the RAV4 is the automated terrain adjuster. When on a rainy day, a simple push of a button will pull out a roof extension so that commuters don’t have to get wet.

On the downside of things however, the RAV4 can cut a hole in your wallet as the entry level costs $46,490. Then again, it is still a savvy SUV since it is able to promote efficiency.
