Earlier this year, Toyota launched the next-generation Prius. Like its predecessors, the latter comes with improvements to its fuel consumption. However, the new Prius is not alone as it arrived with a large variety of models.
Each trim level is tailored to meet specific needs of the consumers and today, we are going to explore further on this. The entry-level vehicle is called the Prius C and the three-door hatchback is built to offer the ultimate fuel saving experience. The second trim level is the Prius V which is built to offer space. It also sports a boxier design to extend the headroom and legroom.
In total, there are 5 different trim levels but all of them are powered by the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder gas engine coupled to a pair of electric motor. EPA rated its fuel consumption at 51mpg on city roads and 48mpg on highway conditions.
This might sound surprising but the engine generates a whopping 134hp. Despite the many ponies, the Prius has a disappointing acceleration from 0-100km/h as it achieves it in 10 seconds.
Even on features, the Prius is completed with automatic climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, alloy wheels, 60/40 split folding rear seat, and much more.
Of course, the top-of-the-line Prius 5 comes with some added features like Adaptive Cruise Control, a Lane Departure Warning System, a Pre-Collision Alert System, Advanced Voice Recognition and Hands-free phone System, an upgraded Navigation display, JBL speakers and so much more.
Toyota is also offering the Prius with an optional Appearance Package. Purchasing it will further beautify the Prius with 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, LED headlamps with built-in washers and a seven-piece aerodynamic body kit.
Inside the vehicle, everything is customizable from a decent interior to a luxurious one. It depends on the consumer’s budget size. Despite the many options to choose from, we believe that it is obligatory to get the Toyota’s Entune System
It is an infotainment hub that provides real-time traffic, weather, sports scores, plus a suite of Apps that can hook you up with Internet based services.
