There is no doubt that Porsche will want to have the same success with the Macan as they had with the Cayenne. But because of rivals such as the BMW 3 series and the Range Rover this may not be quite so simple this time round.
Lets begin with the BMW 3 series. The quick flagship car is an all-wheel drive premium estate and has nice handling. Out of the three vehicles it is the cleanest one with just 148g/km of emission. The vehicle has plently of space on the inside and is generally just a splendid vehicle to drive.
Then there is the Porsche Macan. The vehicle has a large range of ability when it comes to off-road driving. Even though drivers won’t be buying their vehicle to drive off road, it is surely satisfying to know that it is there in case it becomes needed. It includes hill-descent control as well as an off-road mode and for the cost of £1,785 drivers are able to increase the ride height to provide them with a 26.6 degree angle approach. The vehicle is fantastic when it comes to the handling, on curvy roads in particular.
Last but not least we have the Range Rover Evoque. The vehicle comes with a nine speed gearbox and a 4 cylinder engine and is amongst the top cars in the compact SUV category. The vehicle also comes with a Terrain Response system that gives drivers the ability to tune the car system to various surfaces. It is able to tackle slopes going up to 25 degrees. Even though the car may not be the cleanest one on the market, it does still put out roughly 159g/km which which is reasonably decent.
So the car that comes out on top is the Porsche Macan, but there is not a lot in it. Porsche will have to ensure that their work stays at its best or the others will overtake them before we know it.
