While some people call the Porsche Macan a crossover there are others that say it is more like a sports car.
The Macan doesn’t have a powerplant in the back, however the rear fenders and aluminium hatch are a strong focus. The slope of the roof is gentle and this means that headroom is decent. At the back end there are taillights that were inspired by the 918 Spyder.
Inside the Macan does away with the typical five instrument dashboard and instead has just three dials. There is loads of room up front and visibility is good with the back being an exception to this. The Macan offers 17.7 cubic feet of space in the boot and the sizing of the car is well balanced.
In Europe it comes with the V6 of the diesel and this offers 258hp at 4,000 and 4,250rpm and 428 of torque at 1,750 and 2,500rpm. The Macan tester gave 340 hp between 5,500 and 6,5000 rpm and 339 lb-ft (460 Nm) between 1,450 and 5,000 rpm. This is why you can’t talk about turbo lag. As for the Turbo, this comes with 400 horses at the 6,000 rpm, with torque peaking at 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) between 1,350 and 4,500 rpm.
