2014 Porsche Macan review: Choose The Diesel Version

Many petrol fans may be converted to diesel thanks to the new Porsche. Porsche expect that the diesel version will make up 60% of the sales of the Macan S. The Porsche Macan runs on a 335bhp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The vehicle’s diesel version offers drivers an additional 10mpg.

The biggest difference between the diesel and the petrol versions of the car is power. The diesel version gives the vehicle 580Nm from only 1,500rpm, while the V6 can only give its top speed at 5,500rpm. Even so, the vehicle is still reasonably powerful.

The car drives brilliantly when it’s in cruise mode. The vehicle moves smoothly and the engine is nice and quiet, which gives drivers a gliding type of experience and then when the car is put into sports mode it can straight away change into a sports car.

The vehicle manages to handle fast turns brilliantly. It is obviously never going to be able to beat sports cars such as the 911 for example, but the control is fantastic for a SUV.

The Porsche Macan S is a fantastic vehicle and seeing as the diesel version of the car comes with the same pricetag as the petrol version, this will certainly be the more popular choice amongst drivers considering it offers more mpg and power as well.
