The all-new Honda CR-V has finally been released and it looks to dominate in the mid-sized SUV segment. However, the changes and improvements from its predecessor are quite minimal.
When we got behind the wheel of the CR-V, it is like a totally different world. Almost every driving instruments found in the SUV is automated which leaves us with little to do except for shifting the gears, controlling the steering and also, flooring the pedals.
The CR-V offered us a neat and pleasant journey around the Honda showroom near our location. The SUV is truly solid, stable and reliable all at once.
Despite that fact, we feel that the CR-V is not a car for passionate drivers. The vehicle is literally soulless as it doesn’t offer any feel, thrill or excitement when on the move. Everything is so in place that we don’t feel as if we are driving the CR-V. Instead, the CR-V is driving us. This is something we don’t quite like but is still best for new licence holders and the golden-aged folks.
Under the hood, the CR-V is powered by a 2.2L engine that offers sufficient power for general use. Even with the high ground clearance and sturdy built, we don’t recommend driving the CR-V on off-road tracks as the vehicle lacks a true 4×4 system.
Inside the cabin, everything is a little bit lively. The seats, armrest, headrest and many more are all built with durable and heavy duty materials. This is perfect for a family that consist of devilish children.
The Honda CR-V can now be purchased at a Honda retailer near you with prices starting from £30,995.
