Then there is the Honda Accord. The sedan runs on a 185hp, 2.4 liter inline 4 engine paired to a six speed manual transmission. Running on the FWD system, the Accord returns 24mpg in the city and 34mpg on the highway. Also, the vehicle can travel up to 585 miles on a full tank.
The Accord is able to retain 58% of its price tag after 3 years and 46% after 5 years. Safety-wise the sedan only managed 4-star ratings from NHTSA. Honda sells the entry level model at $21,680.
Judging from the stats above, we feel that the Nissan Altima is the winner. It might not have the better resale value but the fact that it is more fuel efficient makes it the better choice overall.
