Toyota is among the pioneers of the green movement in the automotive industry and the Prius is the truly the face of fuel economy. The latest Prius has already been launched and it took efficiency to a whole new level.
Then there is Ford with the all-new Fusion. The car is built with efficiency in mind. Let’s see how both cars compare with each other.
Both cars run on front-wheel through an automatic transmission. Also, they can cater up to 5 commuters in the car. Onto the design, Fusion Hybrid is simply breath-taking. The thin headlamps with that Aston Martin grille in the middle made the Fusion the more appealing car.
However, the Fusion can’t beat the Prius in the field of efficiency. The former can achieve 44mpg while the latter recorded 51mpg. Under the hood, the Fusion runs on the 2L 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine, which is famous for its performance. The Prius, on the other hand, runs on the 1.8L 4-cylinder Hybrid Synergy Drive engine.
Inside the cars, it is the Fusion that has got more comfort to offer. The car has comes with leather seat wraps, a clean-cut design and a rear power output for the rear passengers. Also, the Fusion offers more head and leg room for every head in the car.
Then again, the Fusion has a very small boot space. The 12 cubic feet is surprising as the Fusion is thought as a sedan. The Prius arrives with a whopping 21.6 cubic feet of boot space with the option to fold the rear seats. Doing so will free up an additional 39.6 cubic feet of space.
When it comes to being environmental friendly, there is no competing with the Prius. Then again, we still prefer the Fusion as it has the perfect balance of efficiency, performance and style.
