Ford has been really impressive over the last decade as they became one of the most profitable companies in the automotive industry. Even with such an accomplishment, Ford don’t look like slowing down one bit.
The all-American carmaker is lining up a long list of awesome vehicles, which are due for a release by 2016. This look to be the case after a series of spy shots that shows multiple Ford vehicles undergoing high altitude testing surfaced on the internet.
When viewing the images, we discovered that 12 different cars were being tested. Then again, all of the vehicles were wrapped in camouflage but we can still name which from which due to their obvious shape and size.
We managed to identify the upcoming Mustang, the Explorer and the Ford ST. The latter is the most obvious of them all as the moniker ‘ST’ can be seen at the rear of the vehicle.
Another recognizable vehicle is the Ford Focus RS for the European market. The existing RS is powered by the 2.5 litre turbocharged inline-five but this upcoming model is believed to be running on the 2.3 litre turbocharged EcoBoost four inspired by the Mustang.
As for the Ford Explorer, there were two of them running around the Summit County. One is fully covered in camouflage while the other is only covered at the front section. The latter is expected to be a mid-cycle facelift that is coming in the near future.
The Mustang is the toughest of them all. While the shape can be recognized from a mile away, Ford covered their most-prized possession really well. There is simply no telling on the sort of design cues or powertrain which will feature on the Mustang.
