While the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been sitting comfortably on Android Ice Cream Sandwich for a couple of months now, its predecessor the Nexus S and its variants are still waiting for the latest update.
Official Sprint Nexus S 4G Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Update
As is the case of the Sprint Nexus S 4G which currently runs Android Gingerbread. However as promised by Google, the device will be getting the update very soon and that “soon” now looks like tonight!
According to AndroidPolice who managed to get their hands on an exclusive leaked screenshot of one of Sprint’s internal systems, the long anticipated Android Ice Cream Sandwich update will arrive today, February 16.
Now of course we can’t confirm this at the moment but as AP states, “the source of this information has always been reliable in the past”. We’ve got our Sprint Nexus S 4G handy and will be checking throughout the day to see if the OTA update arrives. If you get lucky, do sound off in the comments below.
