The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been out for quite a while now however we have yet to see other Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phones roll out. Devices like the Motorola RAZR and Bionic, Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note, and the HTC Sensation series, have all been promised to receive the update but no new Android devices appear to be launching with anything higher than Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
First Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone to the market after the Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Well that is until now. The folks over at Softbank in Japan have just announced the Sharp 104SH AQUOS Phone. Boasting a 4.5-inch screen with 720p HD (329ppi) resolution, it not only runs Android 4.0 with features like Face unlock but is also waterproof.
In terms of design it is nothing short of beautiful however the likelihood that this Sharp phone would make its way to the US still seems doubtful. If anything, we may still be stuck waiting for Motorola, HTC and Samsung to release the first Android 4.0 phone. With MWC 2012 now right around the corner, we may be able to see them but don’t expect to be so lucky as to get them in your hands this month.
