Apple is expected to unveil the iPad 3 any month now following its usual product cycle refreshes for their star tablet that usually happens around the end of Q1 annually.
Macotakara: Apple iPad 3 to be announced in March
However just like all other Apple product launches, fans will only find out what is coming on the day of the event, hence the numerous reports and rumors from suppliers to industry insiders to keep us entertained until then. The latest comes to Japanese blog Macotakara which actually has a proven track record when it comes to Apple rumors, especially in the case of the iPad where they have not once but twice correctly reported on what we would see ahead of the launch.
This time around, Mactotakara states that the iPad 3 will be announced in March and go on sale in April. They also add that Apple will be holding an “unusual” event in February but given that it won’t be product focused, we’re guessing it will be a minor enhancement to one of their existing services.
As BGR adds, “the iPad 3 is widely expected to feature a slightly thicker case than its predecessor to accommodate an upgraded high-definition display and a larger battery pack that will reportedly double the battery life”.
We’ll keep you posted as more develops.
