Samsung Galaxy S2+ To Take Galaxy S3 Spot At MWC 2012?

After the disappointing announcement by Samsung that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would be skipping the Mobile World Congress event and making its debut at a special event later in the future, all eyes are on MWC 2012 and what Samsung expected to launch in its place.

Samsung Galaxy S2+ To Take Galaxy S3 spot at MWC 2012?

Word has it that we could see either of two products, a tablet or another Galaxy phone (or possibly both?). Rumors are rife across the Web of a next-gen Android tablet called the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.6. As the name suggests, it will feature a slightly larger 11.6-inch display over its predecessor. And given that the next-generation of Android tablets are going quad-core, the Samsung tablet is likely to follow.

However what is new is talks of a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus. Just like the original Samsung Galaxy S Plus which came a year after the non-Plus variant, word on the street is that the Samsung Galaxy S2+ will debut at MWC 2012 and be based on the original Galaxy S2 design but with bumped up specs that closer match the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. We’re talking about a dual-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz versus the 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 processor currently on the Galaxy S2.

Not much else is known at this time but with MWC 2012 only weeks away, we’re sure more details will surface in the coming days.
