Both the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are thought to be heading our way very soon. Both phones are highly anticipated, with predecessors that have sold well, so which would you buy? Given that we know absolutely nothing concrete about either one of these top end devices, a comparison would have to be based on the loudest (and most believable) rumors at this time. So let’s take a look at this mythical battle between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2, keeping in mind that this is purely for entertainment purposes.
Mythical specs battle: iPhone 5 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2
The Samsung Note 2 is thought to be packed with a dual core Exynos ARM 15 processor, have a camera of at least 8 megapixels with an improved sensor, 2GB of RAM, a better battery and the new 5280 chipset from Exynos. There have also been rumors that it will have a display made from UBP, unbreakable plane technology, which is a flexible display that Samsung have been working on for sometime now.
Screen wise we can expect an AMOLED display of 5.5 inches and it may have 1680 x 1050 resolution. It will also be thinner than the original Note in form factor. There have been suggestions that it would be released with the JellyBean OS (Android 4.1) sometime around September or October of 2012.
On the other corner, we have the iPhone 5. The Apple phone has been speculated to have a 4 inch display, 1GB of RAM, a new graphics chip, a new ARM processor and a resolution of 1136 x 640. It may have a change to the screen ratio at 16:9, a quad core processor, an 8 megapixel camera complete with aperture of f/2.2 and have a camera on the front providing HD resolution. It could also be around 7.9 mm in thickness, making it slightly thinner than even the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX.
The design may have been modified just a little and it will have the latest iOS 6 on it out of the box as the new OS is scheduled for the fall, which would be the perfect time to reveal the new iPhone 5 too. The latest incarnation of the iPhone should support 4G LTE and there have been rumors that Apple will used a new ‘in cell’ tech for their touchscreen.
With both devices having a rumored release date of this fall, likely to be either September or October, which would you go for? Sound off in the comments below.
