If rumors are to be believed we will see the release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S3 at some time during Q4 of 2012, reports TechRadar.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update in Q4 not certain
JellyBean was revealed at Google I/O last week and it brings many updates to Ice Cream Sandwich, including a user interface that is slicker courtesy of Project Butter, Google Now and a voice assistant that is very much like Siri.
Word has it that the first handsets to get the update will be the Galaxy Nexus, XOOM and the Nexus S and it seems that the Galaxy S3 may not be too far behind. TechRadar states that a report does say that Samsung have confirmed that the Galaxy S3 will get JellyBean in Q4 of this year. However when they asked Samsung directly for a comment, they declined to comment on the S3 directly and issued a general statement instead which says that when a new version of the OS is released they would review the possibility of its implementation in products of theirs that exist with the Android OS.
This review would be based on numerous factors such as the overall effect the update would have on the products of Samsung, the system requirements, any structural limitations and level of cooperation from the suppliers of components and software licensors. They finished the statement off by saying that if they decided to make the update available to their users it will be released only after successful completion of development.
So it looks like that Q4 release date for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update isn’t necessarily set in stone just yet.
