If the iPhone 5 was anything like a recent video that was uploaded on YouTube, which everyone drooled over, it could leave the Samsung Galaxy S3 standing in the rain. Thanks to no mention of the iPhone 5 at the WWDC it has left everyone surmising what the new iPhone may look like. One very tasty design was revealed in a concept video from 17 year old Dakota Adney.
Would iPhone 5 need to go this far to beat the Samsung Galaxy S3?
What got everyone drooling other than the design was the transparent screen. Of course it is far-fetched, but it does look absolutely stunning. Looking at the phone is like looking through a very clean glass window and while there could be problems in sunlight, the concept is amazing.
The video also showed off a laser keypad that would be a lifeline for those with poor eyesight or who were clumsy with their fingers. It would also mean the end for having to take a notebook with you. These two features were the highlights of the concept video but they will be too far in the future for them to be seen on the next generation iPhone 5, maybe we will see them on the iPhone 7 or 8 though. The video showed many apps working on the concept iPhone 5, these included Siri and Instagram. For now we can only dream about these concepts but they may not be too far away from becoming a reality.
Samsung are one of the main developers who have been working with transparent tech and it is thought that they may be the ones that would make transparent screens for iPhones in the future (however it would make more sense for Samsung to first debut it on a successor to the Samsung Galaxy S3). They have supplied retina screens for iPad, along with a flexible screen prototype which they showed off last year. However it is thought that this technology will not be seen anytime soon on production phones.
