Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Bigger But May Outrun iPhone 5 To US Stores

According to Unwired by way of a Samsung tweet which has not been officially confirmed, the Galaxy Note 2 is scheduled for release in October of 2012. However GSM Arena is saying that the release date, according to an insider, may be as early as September. It could be true if they want to have the “phablet” on the shelves of stores before Apple release the iPhone 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release date may be as early as September to beat iPhone 5 hype

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will purportedly have a 5.5-inch display which could possibly be 1680 x 1050 pixel resolution and it may have the dual core Exynos 5250 processor. Rumor has it that it will also come with 1.5GB of RAM, have support for LTE connectivity and come with an 8 megapixel camera on the back. Doesn’t this sound familiar? Oh yes that’s right, it is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Since its release in October last year the Samsung Galaxy Note with its 5.3 inch screen has sold more than 7 million units, so there is every possibility that the new model would be just as successful, if not more so. And with the current trend of smartphones getting larger (Samsung Galaxy Nexus, S3, HTC One X), consumers should feel less restricted buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Do you plan on waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 or is the Galaxy S3 more than enough? Or are you waiting to see if the iPhone 5 is as revolutionary as rumors put it?
