Samsung may be working on a successor the popular Samsung Galaxy Note already. GSMArena were told by an insider source that the device would have a screen that is slightly larger and the design will have been revamped as well. They also said that the release date for the new device may be moved to beat the release of the latest iPhone 5 from Apple.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release brought forward to beat iPhone 5 (rumor)
However it may not be an end to the much criticized Samsung Galaxy S3 exterior design, as the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumors suggest that it too may look very much like the Galaxy S3. The display would 0.2 inches bigger than the one on the current Note, but it is thought that the screen will not be as wide as that of the current model.
Rumour has it that the phablet would come with the Exynos 5250 chipset with a dual core ARM 15 processor and have 2GB of RAM, along with an 8 megapixel camera and improved sensor. It has been suggested that it would be released in October; however it is now thought that this may change and it may be released in September so as to steal the glory of the iPhone 5, should it be released from Apple.
It has always been thought that Samsung would revamp the Note, however whether the rumors are true about it being launched in September remains to be seen. After all they are enjoying sales success with the original and in some areas the Note is only just preparing to be launched. It is also thought that Samsung may be working on a bigger phone/tablet hybrid version of the Galaxy Note 10.1.
