HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE Beats Samsung Galaxy S3 To Verizon Stores By A Week?

Verizon has announced that the DROID Incredible 4G LTE will be among us – finally – on July 5. DroidLife first touted this as the likely date last week, so it’s no surprise to see this announcement. One thing that is a surprise is that the phone will be launched a full two months after it was announced at CTIA in early May.

Verizon: HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE hits stores one week before Samsung Galaxy S3?

There’s no official or specific reason been given for the delay, but a logical explanation is Share Everything and the new contracts it will bring. It would have been foolish of Verizon to launch a new phone before major plan changes. So, if this DROID Incredible 4G LTE is out in July, and the Share Everything plans are available the week before (June 28), the company gets to lock upgrading and new customers into these contracts.

The price is looking like $199 on a 2-year contract, but there may still be a $50 rebate available, which brings the price down to $149. The Samsung Galaxy S3 – a much more impressive and desirable phone – is also out at $199, so it’s unlikely that HTC and VZW will be setting this phone up as competition.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 though seems to be suffering from stock shortages and if rumors hold true, they may be readily available in stores on July 12 for those who didn’t pre-order one.
