The three biggest names in the world of technology this year – Apple, Samsung and Microsoft, are all set to release new products in the fall in the same month, claims PopHerald (PH). But could they all be planning on releasing their products on the same day asks the blog?
Fall release date: iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Windows Phone 8 family (rumor)
All three are thought to be launching new products later this fall. Samsung has the Galaxy Note 2 in the pipeline while Apple will almost surely announce the iPhone 5 with iOS 6. Thirdly, Microsoft is set to launch Windows 8 on devices from Nokia.
Microsoft announced their Windows Phone 8 update last week, which the company say is the most advanced OS in the world and adds in support for multi-core processors. It is also thought that they will integrate the mobile OS into the Windows 8 OS for Legacy PC along with tablets. There are rumors going around that this will be launched in the fall, but can it compete with the release of the iPhone 5?
Simultaneously, CNET reports that Samsung will likely reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in the fall and rumors are going around that it will have the same quad core chipset which was first introduced on the Galaxy S3. It is thought that handset would come with Android 4.1 JellyBean installed as it is thought that Google will be announcing the mobile platform at the upcoming Google I/O.
Then of course there is the iPhone 5 from Apple and experts are saying that it will break sales records and provide Apple with a new way of increasing their share in the smartphone market. It is thought that the iPhone 5 will arrive following the release of iOS 6, which would put it sometime in the fall. Experts are saying that the handset will have a larger screen, LTE and be able to make mobile payments (NFC).
One of the new features, PassBook, will help when it comes to crushing competitors. This is the wireless payment feature that will be in competition with Google Wallet, along with all handsets that come with it like the Galaxy S3 from Samsung. The S3 is at the moment one of the hottest handsets on the market and comes with NFC to use Google Wallet for those on Sprint in the US.
As PopHerald puts it, if all three were launched on the same day, for fans of tech it would be like Christmas coming early this year. Personally, while I can see them all launching in the same month – a same day release is unlikely. Nevertheless, launching weeks apart from each other means that they will be in direct competition with one another for sales. If so, will you wait off on buying a Samsung Galaxy Note or S3, iPhone 4S, or the many Nokia Lumia Windows Phone handsets on the market for these upcoming heavyweights?
